Lois Bateman reports from Corner Brook, Newfoundland for April 5/11;

It's a similar situation here near Corner Brook - the first couple of robins have been seen or heard in the past few days but they are at least a week later than last year. They don't sound particularly happy and one can't blame them - there is very little bare ground except on a few slopes and up to 2 ft of snow covering most flat areas.
