Thirty of our thirty-two planted tulips have bloomed. What a beautiful sight. We dug up one of the bulbs that never emerged or bloomed and found that it was soft and beginning to decompose. We are wondering why? Perhaps the bottom of the bulb was not touching the soil and water was able to collect underneath it causing it to decay.
