Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/09/2011

Number: 1

One of our students reported that he came on Saturday and saw our first tulip blooming. That day we had a high temperature of 87 F. Today (4/11/11) we looked out the window when we got to school and saw that many tulips had blossoms, but they were closed. Later that day at 1:30 PM the temperature in our tulip garden was 64.9 F and all the blossoms were wide open so we could see the pistils and stamens inside. They were purple and yellow. Students had tulips that bloomed 20-30 days after they emerged. We are happy the wind and animals did not destroy them.
