All Other Signs of Spring

Have had at least 2/2 ruby's for the last two weeks. Placed 5 feeders around the house to reduce fighting. They still fight. Yesterday a pileated woodpecker climbed down the tree by the bird bath, thought better of having a drink, and flew away. Brown thrashers are nesting somewhere as they were carrying dry grass last week and I don't see them both as often.
Saturday I picked up an 8" gopher tortoise who's burrow was just off a three street intersection. She was in the middle of the road. Brought her home to the woods where I live and released her. The day of release I came across a larger female on my evening walk. I hope the new one settles in.
