A very FADED and large adult Monarch flitted and soared in the native plants and rain garden at our office at 700 W Liberty Street in downtown Louisville yesterday (13th), the day after a large storm front had moved through. Weather was sunny but cool, with a breeze from the north.
This was not a new hatchling. I've never seen one this faded. Perhaps it rode the south winds all the way from Texas ahead of the cold front!
