Ann surveyed the milkweed emerging in the garden during her lunch break. Here is her report.

Monarch Waystation #1 Report


Monday, April 18th, 2011 at 3pm

Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) - 38 shoots


Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) - 14 shoots


Prairie Milkweed (Asclepias sullivantii) - 10 shoots


Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) - 4 shoots


Total monarch egg count = 34


black swallowtail eggs = 2

Chip surveyed the milkweeds in Monarch Waystation #1 around 4pm on April 17th but did not find any eggs. One day later 34 monarch eggs were spotted.
