Will C, Carl R, and I made a whirlwind tour this weekend of some counties in the western and central NC Piedmont for rare trees and shrubs, for Will to photograph for his website. Along the way, we obviously looked for butterflies. Saturday was the stormy day in NC, but in the foothills the afternoon was bright and sunny, and Sunday was a "sun day" also. Here are our totals:
