"Ice-out officially was Monday on Prior Lake, DNR says"
"Ice-out on Prior Lake was official as of Monday, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources declared.
A warm and windy Sunday helped to move the ice out on many lakes south of the Twin Cities, according to the DNR.
The date was later than in 2010, when above-average temperatures helped to melt the ice more quickly. This year, a deep snow pack delayed melting throughout the state, the DNR reported. "
