Rose breasted Grosbeak arrived at our feeders April 23, so we knew their travel partners, the Baltimore Orioles, would be close behind. True to their pattern, the first oriole arrived today. We have put our oranges out, in addition to our hummerbird feeders, to welcome the orioles for their typical three week stay in NW Arkansas. Since 2009, we have welcomed the first Orioles before May 1. We have been tracking their arrival for the last eleven years and the median date is May 4.
