As I was sitting on my deck around 5:00pm, a male ruby-throated hummingbird zoomed in, hovered about 12" from my face for a few seconds, and then proceeded to take nectar from a feeder attached to the window behind me. This is the earliest arrival (by one day) that I have recorded. I am thrilled that he is back!
