My son, Alan, was doing homework tonight when he heard the unmistakable whir of hummingbird wings. Sure enough, at his south-southeast facing window, a small but brightly colored ruby-throated hummingbird was taking a long sip from the feeder. He called me to witness, and how delighted we are at the return of this beautiful bird. Our observation occured at 6:30 pm EST.
