Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 04/29/2011

Number: 1

We saw the first male Rose-breasted Grosbeak this spring in our back yard today. He was observed eating seeds from a feeder with a dome several times. He is absolutely beautiful!! We usually have at least a male grosbeak and some female grosbeaks about this time of year each spring. They do not stay too long. We live in central Missouri which seems to be about the southern most part of their summer range.
