I sighted the first Monarch of the year at about 2:00 PM on April 30, 2011, I think the earliest any has ever shown up here. It was a female and it didn't take her long to find the potted tropical milkweed that I have sitting outside. She continued to fly around the yard for awhile looking for more milkweed to lay eggs on.
