Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 04/30/2011

Number: 1

Two pair of Rose Breasted Grosbeaks and one Baltimore Oriole showed up today. The Grosebeaks enjoyed some sunflower seeds and the Oriole was pleased with new the sugar water feeder that has been out for a couple of weeks. After he came I added some grape jelly to the new jelly holders I had built over the winter.
For the last two years the Orioles and Grosebeaks have shown up on the same day. It makes me wonder if they travel together. Last year it was a day later, on May 1 when they came.
I am submitting this on May 1 and can tell you our first Hummingbird showed up this morning also. I guess we can call this a tri-fecta weekend........ Happy Spring to all..
