Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/01/2011

Number: 1

I was so happy to see our first 'hummer' this spring (the first day of May), that I almost cried with delight....I have truly missed seeing them during our long winter.

And our first hummingbird brought with him, another 'friend' that we have not seen since last summer - our first pair of Rose Breasted Grossbeaks...(we call them the 'Dominoe' birds :-)

Both the Hummingbird, and especially the Grossbeaks seem to be really hungry after their migration. It was my pleasure to supply them with all the food they want.

Looking forward now to seeing our first Baltimore Oriole.
