My feeders were out early this year but my first hummingbird, a black-chinned male, appeared at the feeder on April 28, the same as last year. Our weather had turned very chilly and stormy, unlike last year when it was extra warm. My home is near the river with lots of fields around and the low temperature has been dipping into the 20's again now that the clouds have moved out.
