An earthworm went under the surface of the dark, leafy topsoil that is situated along a gentle slope between two houses. It appeared to be about 3-4 inches in length. We were outdoors between 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m today. We recently experienced heavy wind and rain. It appeared the worm was seeking higher ground as it burrowed toward the high side of the slope.
