Two male Eastern Towhees came to our feeders today around 9 am. With the snow flurries this morning, they might be wondering if they headed north too soon. Two were at the feeders at 4:30 pm, also. Whether they were the same two is undetermined. There was also a male Ruby-Crowned Kinglet that passed through around 9 am. I had seen two female Purple Finches around for the last few days, but today around 4 pm there was a male Purple Finch eating the sunflower seeds. On Saturday, April 30 a single male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak appeared at the feeders. This was about the same time as the first Baltimore Oriole and male Brown-Headed Cowbird arrived. These are definite signs of spring.
