Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/07/2011

Number: 1

2pm, 80 degrees F, partly cloudy, windy -- lots of monarch activity and all sizes of caterpillars on the milkweed. There are still eggs as well.

Two days earlier (the day of the hailstorm) a full-grown monarch caterpillar had climbed the side of our one-story house and took up a still position under the roof edge. This morning I saw he had formed a J and this afternoon he turned into a chrysalis. Very sweet to have him there!
