Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/10/2011

Number: 1

We continue to have unusually hot, dry, windy weather this spring. In spite of the weather, there has been a good abundance of monarchs using this native habitat to lay eggs, mate, and nectar. Today the indoor-raised caterpillar emerged from his chrysalis (formed on 4/1) and was born a beautiful healthy monarch butterfly. For us, the first of the season. Lovely and inspiring!
