8am, 80 degrees F, overcast, light breeze -- our "roof" caterpillar which had formed his chrysalis on 4/10 emerged as a healthy male monarch butterfly this morning. He hung upside down for about 2 hours getting his strength up and then at some point (not seen by me) was on his way!
This last week continued the hot, dry, windy weather with no break, but still a good abundance of monarch activity. We, and they, need rain badly.
