Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/03/2011

Number: 1

Saw my first hummer about 3:45PM Tues. 05/03/11. I heard a noise at my panies I had put out the night before. I had just made my syrup and had not put it out as yet. It was a fast sighting and it was not my usual sighting. I think it was a female but I am not sure it happened so fast. I should have put my feeder out in the am but I had a dr. appt. and didn't have time to do it. Wish I had. So I hung it out after this sighting but haven't seen a hummer yet today. I usually have my petunias out by now but haven't got them yet either. Weather has not allowed it here yet. I will get a pot of them today and put them out but it is suppose to rain and be rather cool today.
I hope I see one again soon. I felt so bad for the hummer. I know a few neighbors have hung out their feeders so maybe it will be ok.
