March 28th 2011,Curry,Smith Lake,Alabama...I saw one not 50 feet over my trees. lone Male,in my opinion. was on my toes at that point with point & click at the ready. May 1,2011,I got my video. Two adult,Full Fledged,Bald Eagles flying right over my head. In these parts they are making great strides. Lake Tuscaloosa,Holt Lake(in Tuscaloosa), Lake Guntersville is really doing great...But here in Northwest Alabama,Smith Lake is Clean and Beautiful. Deep water, and a large striped bass population. My hopes have always been to spot one...And I get two in one shot. Bad News: My battery was on the edge, and only got about twenty seconds of video, but for me it is Affirmation! When I told a couple friends about the 1st single sighting, they were like..."cool" but they have lived here their whole lives and haven't seen one. Well,I took a couple really AWFUL stills(had it on wrong setting...DOY!?!) But still see the Bright white of their tail and heads. Video is decent, and proves I was at work. We have an air compressor that drains and it goes off during video.
I was so pleased to finally see not just one,but two, baldys and will be in contact in the event I have another encounter.
If the video can be used or needs to be used,Please let me know where to upload it. I love to share...just wish it was a little more professional.
