Robin (First HEARD singing)

YES! WE HAVE ROBINS!

Everyone here was amazed at how late the Robins arrived this year. We even got Tree Swallows before we got Robins. What could have held them up??

We heard Robins, FOR SURE this time, May 1 but we didn't see them until May 4. They were almost 2-weeks late. Storms on the mid-North American flyway? This weekend other birds like White-crowned Sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warblers were heard and seen.

We had graduation on May 6. Our last day of school is May 10. So far we still have ice on the Innoko River and the many lakes around us. No budburst yet either on any of our trees.

We hope all of you have a wonderful spring and summer! We'll see you next fall!

See when this Northern Observation Post predicted first robin song!
