AT LAST! The tulips in our test-garden bloomed today. Bulbs I planted in past years came up about one week earlier. I think this means that it does matter how late you plant in the fall. The test-garden bulbs weren't planted until December, and the ground was frozen solid. (What a contrast that day of digging to today's warm, sunny weather!!)
