Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/10/2011

Number: 1

I caught a glimpse of the first hummingbird of the season here at Pine Lake this morning, but it came and went so fast I wasn't able to identify what kind it was.

Here are photos of a hummingbird on my daffodils and columbine. After several days of rain, the sun came out Sunday morning (5/15) and with it came the hungry hummingbird. This is the earliest I have seen hummingbirds here. I usually look for them later in summer when my red cannas are blooming. Several neighbors have feeders out, which may help attract them.
