Observed first small male Ruby-Throat at 2:30 PM, 05/14/11. He returned to the feeder three times and then headed north. I have had five feeders up for five days. This is my second year of feeding the Ruby-throats. Last year about thirteen fed themselves each day before the babies were born. Male Hummers garded three of my four feeders last year, but a dominant female commandeered one feeder for herself and a few other females and young ones.
