First Monarch butterfly observed today at 5:00 p.m. at the Richard Dorer Pools in the Whitewater Management Area in Wabasha. I observed it in flight and nectaring on Wild plum blossoms. No wind and temperature around 70F. (I revisited this location the following day around the same time of day (5/12) and a Monarch was nectaring in the same place with a Tiger swallowtail)
