I was so surprised to see an adult bald eagle fishing in a cove on Lake Cypress Springs early Sunday morning, 5/22 at about 6:30am. It was circling high above the cove and then circled down and feet touched the water. Even though I have good binoculars, it was a grey, misty morning at the lake and I could not see if it caught a fish. This area of Texas is a winter range for bald eagles and I spotted several, up to three at a time in the winter including a juvenile flying with an adult but I have not seen any since end of February until yesterday. We are located very near the northeast top part of the state of TX near where eagles are in a permanent range in Arkansas. Hopefully, we have a nesting pair that has stayed.
