Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 05/25/2011

Number: 1

I had never seen a Baltimore Oriole in my life until this day. I have heard they like oranges and grape jelly so I hung some little dishes of them on the tree branches. Sure enough, after about 3 or 4 days I sighted my first one ever, after waiting 65 years. Yay!

I suppose that might seem strange to some, but nevertheless true. Also I have not seen an Eastern Bluebird. That is my next quest. Now that I am retired and have more opportunity to pursue these interests I think I may have a number of firsts.

I will certainly be happy to report sightings of any of the things in your lists if it is of value to you. I'm glad I found this site, it's just terrific.
