Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 05/22/2011

Number: 1

It does appear that he may have an injured limb(wing). He is hanging around the back yard only because of the trees that are available to him for the bugs they attract, as well as a superb hiding place. He is also enjoying the navel oranges that my wife and I are leaving for him.
When he first arrived last week,he would not sing, it has only been in the last few days that he has managed to find his voice, and its a fine singing voice at that.
Other birds(orioles) have been in the area but as soon as they spot this one , they're gone. Both my wife and I are keeping an eye out for any predators in our area,(cats, hawks,) I hope this can help out with your research .
Thanks again ,
Joseph&Deborah Moore.
