Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/30/2011

Number: 1

The first monarch was spotted by my granddaughter this afternoon when the sun finally came out after days of rain and cool weather. Some common milkweed is about 6" tall, and I found 3 eggs on three plants that were fairly close together in our tall grass.I was delighted as I have been trying to increase the amount of milkweed in my yard and growing several varieties to sell at our Master Gardener sale.
