I was walking my dog in Highland Park, Rochester, NY, when I heard an interesting bird song. It sounded sort of like a Robin but not as sweet. I thought it might be a mockingbird which I have often seen in that particular park. When my dog and I went off the path to investigate, a beautiful Scarlet Tanager flew up out of a bush. I recognized it because it was one of my favorite birds as a child, but I haven't seen one for years! It was beautiful!
