Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/08/2011

Number: 1

From my office window we have noticed Robins hunting worms. They pluck a worm, and instead of heading off to a nest (as we would expect) they keep on hopping around on the ground, tilting their head hunting worms, but never pick up another one. Just one dangling from their mouth, but keep on looking. It is the time of year we would expect them to head back to the nest, or eat it for themselves. Is there are reason for this behavior? What are they doing?
