Milkweed (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/07/2011

Number: 1

Milkwweed is rather scarce here, compared to other places I've seen. But I do have a patch in my veggie garden that is persistant, so I try to leave it there. It's one of my fav "weeds", :). Trust me, that's a HUGE compliment.

The ones I saw popping up were after heavy rains and about 2 to 3 inches with good first leaves.

Also thought I saw a Monarch, but can't be sure, was fleeting sight. But I have seen two Tiger Swallowtails recently if that is helpful.I always have their caterpillars on my dill.

Not so lucky with the monarchs yet.
