Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/04/2011

Number: 1

We spotted the birds on our front porch about a week ago, they have come a few years before but never built a nest. They have been working all week and have a nice size nest (and made a mess on our front porch!). They are very aggressive and don't like us to use our front entry door. We use the garage entrance as much as possible. They are adorable. This is the longest they have ever stayed, in years past it would just be for a few days and never built a nest. Not sure if they have eggs in their nest and wonder how long they will stay. I actually never knew what kind of birds they were and was describing them to a friend and he said they sound like Barn Swallows. So I looked them up on the internet and they looked identical to the pictures on Wikipedia.
