Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 05/27/2011

Number: 1

A robin pair have built a nest in a poplar tree right out side our bathroom window (about three feet from the house)on the west side of the house. The nest was built starting 05/27/11 and finished 05/29/11, after the female scouted the area for several hours on 05/27/11. The nest materials are strips torn from a tarp in our yard, dog hair, leaves, grass and mud. The nest is about nine feet off the ground. She then laid her eggs over several days but we are unsure as to the exact number. On 06/9/11, the first egg hatched and now there appears to be two or three babies. Both parents have been bringing food and carrying away the fecal sacs regularly. They do not appear to be bothered by us watching them or by noises from the house.
