Barn Swallow: I was a bit concerned this year. My barn swallows did not return as expected.However,6-25-11 one pair observed returning to the horse stall. Stall was first used for nesting in 2005. Each year two hatches were observed. Had hatchlings before in early June. I am not sure if these are the original pair or offspring. 6 years is old age for a swallow. Due to the time frame perhaps these are second generation swallows returning AFTER nesting somewhere else earlier this year?
