Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 07/15/2011

Number: 1

After a promising start to egg laying and monarch sightings in May, I have been hard pressed to find an egg for the last 4 weeks. Since we had a rash of unusually strong storms attack our area during this time, I wonder if the adults were possibly killed or blown out of the area. I finally found 1 egg on my milkweed two days ago and the baby cat hatched this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll now have more normal weather conditions and things will go back to normal for the fall breeding and migration.
