Sadly I have not seen even one monarch this summer, so far. By mid July I generally have seen hundreds, collect eggs off my milkweed, and raise the larva in netted cages and release the adults as they emerge.
Neighbors in this suburb of Chicago also have reported very few if any monarch sightings.
What is happening? The weather has been fair, we have had a few storms, but this is usual.
