I observed a female ruby throated hummingbird. Her throat is white. We have had a hummingbird feeder for 5 years, and this is the first year that we have consistently observed any hummingbirds. She has been feeding here since June 2011. We live in a northwest suburb of phila., and the feeder is outside our front door, amidst colorful Cali lilies in our garden.
