In the Sierra Nevada foothills east of Sacramento we have had a big hatch of new monarchs this past week that were derived from a wave of females that passed through and laid eggs the first two weeks in June. The hillside where this video was taken had about 30-40 monarchs flying around and nectaring on the fascicularis milkweed plants (small white flowers)
