I have been seeing 1 or 2 adult butterflies in my backyard each day for the last few weeks, and have found lots of eggs and small caterpillars on the common and swamp milkweed. Right now I have 3 eggs, 15 caterpillars and 1 chrysalis that I am raising in the house. The females have been laying eggs, sometimes 2 at a time, on very small common milkweed seedlings that are only about 6" tall.
