Found two female monarchs and 3 other monarchs of unknown gender at Silver Creek Fish Hatchery outside of Show Low. One of the females was very faded and you could almost see through her wings. She was flying around the crab-apple tree. The other female was of good coloring and was laying eggs on Asclepias subverticillata in a nearby field. We visited this location in mid-June and mid-July and the monarchs were not here yet.
