Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/12/2011

Number: 1

I plant plants in my garden to foster populations of birds, insects and other fauna. I grow mostly CA natives in La Mesa, CA. I see many monarchs throughout the day, and at any one time my three milkweed plants are covered by 10-20 caterpillars each (except for A. fascicularis - none). My A. tuberosa was completely defoliated at one point and now is grown about halfway. Good luck, though, as it is covered in caterpillars again! I think I am on a flyway. I am off today to get some more A. speciosa.
