This past week we finally started seeing Monarchs here in Loudoun and the best news (and least personally) is that when I went out to check my milkweed yesterday, I had 3 caterpillars!!



In past years I would already have loads of caterpillars filling our rearing cages – I am happy to have the ones here now and be vigilant in checking the plants.

I’m still only seeing a few adults here and there but at least I’m finally seeing them. We’ve had some light rain and cooler temps the last couple of days so that may help a bit
