Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 08/21/2011

Number: 1

I have about 15-20 hummers (male and female) buzzing from feeder to feeder at my home. I also was taking care of a male baby hummer from 11-20 August. He and his sibling had fallen out of their nest apparently from a severe thunderstorm which produced high winds. I stumbled upon them several hours later to find the sibling dead and covered in ants. After observing the little hummer which I later named "Flitter" for an hour to see if his mother was taking care of him....she never showed. I then took care of him until I finally found a wildlife rehabilitator.
