My rubythroated hummers went through a period from late July to mid-August sharing my two feeders by the kitchen window. There were as many as 7 at a time on a feeder and I needed to refill twice a day. The two feeders by the lakeside of the house were basically ignored (unlike the early part of the summer.) Then, last week, they started fighting each other off and I did not have to refill for several days at a time. Changing behavior again, on Aug.19 they started to share again with less fighting and will sit with several at a time on the feeders.
