Date: 08/21/2011

Number: 3

Barr Lake State Park has a prairie reservoir, of over 1,900 acres. There are a lot of showy milkweed plants in large groups, here and there, around the refuge side of the lake.

I saw three healthy looking monarchs while hiking.

It was sunny and in the upper 80's around noon. It is known for it's bald eagle nest and about 350 other types of birds in all seasons.
