Every day for the last several weeks we have had 2-3 monarchs feeding on the blazing star liatris. Yesterday and today we have had twelve (12) feeding non-stop throughout the day. This count is consistent throughout the day.
Many neighbors walking by our boulevard garden stop to comment. We are going to put a little informational sign out so people are encouraged to plant both milkweed and liatris in their gardens.
Last year at peak we had close to 60 for a 3-4 day stretch feeding before leaving so I'm hoping they find us again this year. A beautiful sight to be sure!
